The last few days were filled up with so many learning opportunities. Melanie traveled to her first Note Expo in Dallas. She found a wide range of experiences among the attendees – people from around the country who were just starting out with no note deals to people who have been note investors for years with multiple note deals. Meeting the speakers and vendors allowed for deeper conversations and answers to many questions. (Stay tuned for some video updates.)
Here are some takeaways:
- Ask for input, seek counsel and surround yourself with those who know more than you.
- Use an investing model to prevent getting emotional about a deal
- Use creative financing to help the borrower (ex. Seller financing for those who would not qualify for a traditional loan)

Our focus this last quarter is to find notes, make bids and close on notes. The tapes and assets are starting to come in. We are expecting to have a number of tapes and assets come across our desk ,and will be bidding on bigger pools. There are plenty of opportunities.
