This week has been filled with so many ups and downs. The first event was getting word from our real estate contacts in Indiana and Ohio that the properties that we bid on were not owner occupied and not going to offer good exit strategies for our investing goals.
The next was a complete highlight of our family vacation week that took us from Traverse City and the Sleeping Bear Dunes to Wisconsin and back over lake Michigan on the SS Badger. We asked the kids what part what their favorite and they unanimously said “The Dunes.”
We got to the Dunes location at about 6 pm in hopes that we could also take in the sunset and allow the kids to hike down and then back up. For those who have never been there the vertical drop heading down to the water is so steep you lose sight of each other from the top. The down trip was easy compared to the crawling posture needed to get back up the hill.
Phil met the kid’s half way and encouraged them on their climb back to the top. Victory was achieved when all of them reached to top without needing any additional help. There were high fives all around!!
One of the nice things about a long drive is one of us can be driving and the other can be doing some due diligence. The husband wife team seems to be working! Just like the victory we got by finishing the dune climb, we were able to submit bids for new assets.
Ups and downs are inevitable so we need to keep moving forward – Feel the victory and keep growing!
Thanks,
Phil and Melanie
